🌮 Some taco shops start with a menu. Dos Tacos started with a promise.
When Omar Aceves first arrived in the United States, his uncle took him to a taco shop. That experience planted an idea: one day, he wanted to open a taqueria of his own.
Years later, that idea became Dos Tacos, an independent Katy restaurant Omar opened with his wife and head chef, Cindy Rivera. The doors officially opened in April 2024.

The concept is centered on the kind of straightforward street tacos Omar remembers from Mexico, paired with an open kitchen where customers can watch — and smell — their food being prepared.
And there’s family history on the menu.
Cindy prepares a decades-old family carnitas recipe, alongside tacos such as pastor, chorizo and fish. Dos Tacos also makes room for vegetarian and vegan diners, with plant-based taco options that are much more than an afterthought.

The restaurant’s current menu has continued expanding, with quesabirria, vegan tacos, house salsas and consommé among the offerings featured by Dos Tacos.
